DNV GL Healthcare introduces the first of its kind certification for Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) Programs, part of our dedication to helping hospitals improve quality and patient safety. ECLS Program certification requirements are aligned with our NIAHO® Hospital Accreditation Program and with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

ECLS Program Survey Process:

The ECLS Program survey process audits an organization’s ECLS Program in the following areas:
  • Quality management system
  • Program management
  • Staffing management
  • Infection prevention & control
  • ECLS Program service delivery
  • The ECLS Program’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care

ECLS Program Survey Components:

  • ECLS Programs are certified for a three year period subject to an annual survey to verify continuing compliance with ECLS Program requirements
  • Annual announced surveys are coordinated with the Applicant Organization
  • ECLS survey agenda and document request list are provided in advance to assist the organization with survey planning
  • DNV GL client drop box provides ready access to the DNV GL ECLS team for questions or additional information
