One of these methodologies that will be presented in this webinar is the application of a simplified and fast-tracked version of reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) to provide a quantitative assessment of the level of performance that may be expected from any proposed improvement initiative. DNV GL will use TARO software to execute the proposed methodology.    In order to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach, a case study addressing the impact of reliability improvement projects will be evaluated.   • Compare the as-is performance to the future performance (post improvement project) by evaluating the availability and utilization of all the production-critical units and their impact on production.  
  • Identify which reliability improvement projects have the highest confidence in achieving a positive net present value.   
  • Perform tank management optimization to quantify how performance can be improved.  
  • Improve stakeholder confidence in the selection of reliability improvement projects to ensure maximum return on investment.

About the presenters

Houssein Kheireddinegraduated from Texas A&M university with a PhD in Chemical Engineering focused on process optimization and integration in 2012. He has eight years of experience with DNV GL and is currently a Principal Consultant in the Risk Management Section of Oil & Gas Services, Region Americas. Houssein has managed and executed numerous (40+) oil and gas performance optimization studies to maximize production and minimize risk for major upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas projects.

Kuhan Sivathasan - is a Risk Management specialist with 22 years experience in asset performance and reliability analysis (RAM) in the oil & gas, LNG, refining, petrochemical and railways industries (100+ projects). During his career, Kuhan has analyzed the performance of several refineries, chemical and polymers facilities located around the globe. Specifically, his experience ranges from detailed refinery equipment level unit analysis, refinery unit emissions quantification, chemicals such as Methanol and PTA, heavy oil upgraders, whole site refinery and polymers complexes, and water treatment facilities.
