Active Shooter

The Two-Hour Active Threat Readiness Training will empower and enable participants to:

  1. Recognize behavioral indicators that might lead to violence and reporting procedures that could prevent escalation;
  2. Employ preparedness concepts to develop and implement into existing Emergency Action Plan;
  3. Discuss active assailant related topics, such as assailant attack patterns, pathways to violence, insider threats, and soft target security; and
  4. Review and apply key reference materials and resources to enhance planning, preparedness, response, and recovery actions.

This training incorporates the National Preparedness Goal mission areas with planning steps from FEMA’s Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG-101) and walks the participants through the processes for Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery through the active shooter lens.
