“Improving fuel efficiency is high on our agenda to remain attractive for our customers,” says Frank Leonhardt, Chairman of the shipping company. “With ECO Insight we will gain further transparency to harvest even more savings potentials.”
“Already in the trial last year we could point the customer to specific optimisation potentials with our advanced analytics,” comments Dr Torsten Büssow, DNV GL’s Head of Fleet Performance Management. “We are very pleased that a quality shipping company like Leonhardt & Blumberg has chosen to implement our solution.”
DNV GL’s performance management portal ECO Insight provides a comprehensive and easily accessible way to manage the performance of a fleet, including voyage, hull & propeller, engine & systems performance. It enriches customers’ own fleet reports with industry data, such as Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, or fuel, and provides unique benchmarking capabilities. Advanced engineering methods, for example hull fouling prediction based on CFD, are also packaged into the portal.
Navigator Insight, due to a lot of smart plausibility checks against specific vessel particulars, will ensure high quality data collection onboard. The fleet performance solution hooks up to existing data collection processes onboard, so there is no change in procedures needed and optionally can cover any environmental reporting standards required, such as the Environmental Ship Index (ESI), the Clean Shipping Index (CSI) and the upcoming European MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification).
Since its launch at the beginning of 2015, ECO Insight has grown to become the most popular performance solution in shipping.
