Our Columbus facility is recognized as one of North America’s leading materials and corrosion testing laboratories.  Though oil and gas is our primary focus with specialization in pipelines and facilities, our Columbus laboratory delivers value to a range of other industries to include energy, transportation, medical devices, and manufacturing.  Our expertise satisfies not only the needs of the asset’s owner/operator but those of the insurance, legal, and regulatory sectors.

Our laboratories are staffed with a complement of scientists, engineers and subject matter experts (SME’s) dedicated to providing unmatched technical expertise and practical experience.  Our systematic and detailed approach to material science is augmented by a full understanding and in-depth knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations.  Our staff utilizes cutting edge laboratory and modeling tools for determining asset/component fitness for service and, in the case of failure, the mechanism/mode and root cause of failure.

We provide material testing and qualification for both metallic and non-metallic components.  Degradation and failure mechanisms/modes regularly encountered include:

  • Fatigue / Corrosion fatigue
  • Localized corrosion pitting 
  • Oxygen concentration cell corrosion
  • Microbiologically influenced corrosion
  • Effects of harsh environments and mediums (H2S, NH3, etc.)
