This course will introduce the principles of fatigue and fracture.
Course Objective
The course will introduce the principles of fatigue and fracture. The treatment of fatigue will focus on the S-N approach, provide insight into the Hot Spot stress method for weld toe fatigue and address methods for base metal fatigue. The treatment of fracture will focus on those principles required for Engineering Criticality Assessments (ECA) and the application of ECA to pipelines.
